He conveyed this after visiting the headquarters of the Al-Qur'an Interpretation Council (MTA) in Solo on Sunday.

"Surely we are very surprised, very concerned, there are some of my acquaintances, there are also some Gerindra members," Prabowo said. "So we give condolences to the incident," he added.

Prabowo advised that people in the disaster area remain vigilant. He was worried if there was a secondary disaster.
"We must be more aware of the aftershocks and so on," he concluded.

The Sunda Strait tsunami occurred in the Pandeglang, Serang and Lampung regions, killing 168 people. Not only that, as many as 745 other people suffered injuries ranging from minor to severe injuries.
