Carita Residents Have Not Dared to Return Home, Afraid of Following Tsunamis

Jurnal Update. A number of residents around Carita Beach, Pandeglang, Banten, still have not dared to return home. They are still afraid of a subsequent tsunami.
Monitoring at the location on Monday, residents were still in refugee camp about 5 km from the beach. Some of them went down to the settlements to take care of their needs.

Rudin, a resident of Carita Village, said he had not dared to go home because he was still traumatized. Rudin's house was also hit by the tsunami but did not suffer severe damage.
"Still scared. This is going to go back up again. Earlier, I took things from home first," Rudin said, when met at the location on Monday.

Just like Rudin, Leman, a resident of Carita Village, also did not want to return home. He also went down to pick up items at his house. Leman's house is distance
"We are still evacuating until we are safe first," Leman said.

While on the edge of Carita Beach, the evacuation process is still ongoing. The combined officer is still checking the rubble looking for whether there are still victims or not.
BNPB still encourages the public to be vigilant. Related parties, such as BMKG, Badan Geologi, KKP, or BPPT still analyze the causes of the tsunami and the potential for aftershocks.
