Mother's Story Cultivate Discipline and Hard Work to Anies Since Small

Pojok Warta. The role of a woman named Aliyah Rasyid cannot be separated from the life of DKI Governor Anies Baswedan. Anies' mother always instilled discipline values to work hard at Anies since childhood.

"I cultivate discipline. When praying, I have to offer prayers. There is a turn. Our house is very simple so if you want to pray, you should hold a mat together. Take turns. Who is in charge of preparing prayer mats is rotated with his siblings. It is a habit for discipline. , "Aliyah said during an exclusive Mother's Day interview, which aired on Saturday

Anies' father, Rasyid Baswedan, also always emphasizes honesty, respect, and egalitarian for his children. Aliyah said that her children, including Anies, were always accustomed to not discriminating against people. Courteous attitudes must also be shown including to helpers. He also reminded Anies to always respect parents.

"Respect to parents. We teach you how to shake hands. If the parents have to look down a little. We make it a habit to visit grandma for example. The child is happy to play in his own places. But we make it a habit to respect older people. Visiting there for a while will only be fun to where he wants it to be. There are values, "said the 78-year-old woman.

Aliyah recounts Anies' childhood, who really likes to be friends, has many initiatives, and is also strong. From childhood, Anies is taught to always work hard and honestly. This woman, who was born in Kuningan, West Java, used her car to ride a bicycle to school even though they actually had a car.

"We make it a habit for children to work hard. Not too spoiled," Aliyah said.
For him, education is an important thing for children. Aliyah himself is a lecturer who is now a professor emeritus of Yogyakarta State University. Although she and her husband were lecturers, Aliyah did not then look for 'shortcuts' so that her child would be the leader and get the best school. Everything must remain based on business.

"The point is if the value must be self-employed, it cannot be for people's connections. Look for schools like that. I am also a lecturer, actually it can be entrusted or anything, but we never did it. So the child knows and he is also proud that this is because of his achievements, "he said.

The active Anies in various organizations since he was young up to now in the government also cannot be separated from the role of Aliyah. He always encourages children to do things outside of learning and also reading.

"We are sure that humans live not only in classrooms, not only in the knowledge gained at school but also in the community. That is also an important thing," Aliyah said.
